Diamonds and Details Tips For Perfecting Your Ceremony

Diamonds And Details Tips For Perfecting Your Ceremony

Your wedding ceremony is something youโ€™ll never forget and is a core memory for you and your fiancรฉ. Making sure the ceremony is well rehearsed and perfected down to the last detail is what is going to make it look the most seamless and put together. These are my key tips to practice during your ceremony rehearsal and some things to discuss with your partner before the ceremony! By following these we can promise you the best photos, the best memories, and the most special semblance your ceremony could be in.

  • Vow Exchange: Eye to Eye with Your partner. Repeating the vows that the officiant gives to you before you say your own vows is still important. During this time we see a lot of couples stare at the officiant as they repeat these vows. Donโ€™t forget to look at your significant other while doing this. While it seems small, it is important, and the moment will feel even more special if you remember to look at each other.

  • Groomsmen Coordination: A Look of Uniformity
A subtle detail that can make a big difference in photos is groomsmen's hand placement. During the rehearsal, have them practice standing with their hands either right over left in the front or both behind their backs. Consistency creates a polished look in photos.

  • Moving the officiant for the โ€œkiss the bride moment.โ€
Discuss with your officiant beforehand a discreet way to step aside for your kiss. Practicing this subtle movement during the rehearsal ensures a natural flow and avoids any awkward shuffling during the ceremony itself.

  • The Perfect Bouquet: Balancing Beauty with Proportion
The bouquet is an accessory that complements your entire look. Avoid overwhelming your dress with an oversized bouquet. During your dress fitting, consider holding different bouquet sizes and styles to see what flatters you and your dress most. You want your guests to see you and not just the flowers!

  • Hand in Hand: A Symbol of Unity Throughout
Holding hands throughout the ceremony not only looks better but it will make you both feel better. After the build up of the morning and all of the nerves walking down the aisle, it is important to remember to hold hands at the alter. This looks better in photos too!

  • The Grand Entrance: A Bride in the Spotlight
A well-timed pause at the beginning of the aisle allows your wedding planner to make any last-minute adjustments to your veil and train. This short pause also builds anticipation for your grand entrance. Communicate this pause point to your wedding planner during the rehearsal. Your planner should discuss this pause with your photographer so they know to get that magical first shot of you AFTER the planner has stepped out of the picture.

  • The Exit: Capturing Those Magical Kiss Photos
Slowing down your exit from the ceremony allows your photographer to capture those special moments you'll cherish forever. Plan these pauses in advance during the rehearsal. Briefly dip and kiss at designated points during the exit, ending with a final, lingering kiss at the very end with your guests in the background. Not only will you have one at the alter of just the two of you but also a second one with your loved ones behind you. The slower you walk, the more opportunities your photographer will have to capture these romantic scenes.

By practicing these details during your rehearsal, you'll ensure a flawless ceremony that reflects your love story and creates beautiful memories to look back on for years to come.
